US & The Capricorn New Moon 2018

The Planetary outlook

New Moon in Capricorn

The New Moon of January 16, 2018 is at 26 degrees of Capricorn. Whenever planets are between 26 to 29 degrees of a cardinal sign they are said to be at a "critical degree" which indicates a crisis period. This is a very potent New Moon as there is a stellium alignment of 6 planets in the sign of Capricorn which creates a concentration of power in the planetary energy field. Capricorn energy is one of responsibility, regulations, restrictions, limitations, and structure.

This New Moon falls in the 3rd house of the US chart highlighting communications, information, modes of transportation, and the media.  It is in an opposition aspect to the US's Mercury which indicates difficulties with travel whether it be short or long distance. The news in the headlines will have a tone of seriousness and heaviness to it during this lunar cycle.

With the New Moon conjunct the US's Pluto and in opposition to the US's Mercury (which rules the 8th house of the national debt and the 11th house of the congress and the senate) and square by transiting Uranus we can expect that the possibility of a government shutdown looms large.

The planet Saturn rules this New Moon and he is in opposition to the US's Venus and Jupiter conjunction indicating that efforts at diplomacy will be at a deadlock during this lunar phase. This planetary energy field also indicates more job layoffs, public health concerns, and problems with neighboring countries.
