Jupiter enters Scorpio 

 October 10, 2017 thru November 8, 2018

When the slower moving planets change signs we see a huge shift in the planetary energy field. Jupiter spends approximately a year in a sign, give or take. 

Jupiter is the great benefactor and rules over higher thought, belief systems, legal affairs, prosperity, commerce, publications, people of prominence, and optimism. The house that he is transiting in your natal chart shows where you should expand to increase prosperity in your life, where there is benevolence, and joy to be found. If we over do Jupiter we can tend to be over optimistic, arrogant, and expand beyond our means. Jupiter makes everything bigger, for good or bad. Sometimes it's our bank account and sometimes it's our waistline.

Jupiter through the Houses

1^st House

As Jupiter transits the 1st house it brings a more optimistic approach to life and expands the natives self confidence.  You may be inclined to expand your horizons through long distance travel, higher education, and spiritual development during this transit.

The negative side of this can be a tendency to put on weight and arrogance. 

2^nd House

As Jupiter transits the 2nd house it expands ones ability to make money, gain assets, and possessions. The native may tend to be more generous and donate to charities related to educational and religious causes.

The negative side of this is to overextend one's self financially and a tendency towards extravagance.

3^rd House

As Jupiter transits the 3rd house the native will be mentally more optimistic and have pleasant relations with siblings, relatives, and neighbors. The native will be busier than usual with errands and travel. It is a favorable time for writing, public speaking, and learning new things.

The negative side of this would be religious and/or cultural bias, and feeling intellectually superior to others.

4^th House

As Jupiter transits the 4th house there may be new members added to the family either through birth or marriage. Some natives will move to a larger, and/or comfortable home. Family relations during this transit are harmonious and the home may be a gathering place for religious, educational, and/or spiritual events. The home and family tend to be protected and prosperous during this time.

The negative side of this is a tendency to inertia and not taking care of one's domestic responsibilities.

5^th House

As Jupiter transits the 5th house there will be more opportunities for romance, creative expression, and social popularity. The native may travel for pleasure, have luck with financial speculation, and/or become pregnant.

The negative side of of this is over indulgence in the pursuit of pleasure and financial losses due to being unrealistic or optimistic in financial speculation.

6^th House

As Jupiter transits the 6th house there will be new opportunities for work, better working conditions, and good relations with co-workers. The native may have the opportunity to travel, publish materials, and education that is work related. 

The negative side of this is possible weight gain, laziness, and taking to much for granted in one's daily life.

7^th House

As Jupiter transits the 7th house it is a favorable period in relations with others and the possibility of forming new and beneficial partnerships through marriage and/or business. 

The negative side of this is taking others for granted.

8^th House

As Jupiter transits the 8th house the native may benefit through inheritance, corporate business, insurance, and/or jointly held monies. 

The negative side of this is litigation over business or financial affairs shared with another.

9^th House

As Jupiter transits the 9th house there will be an increased interest in philosophy, religion, and other cultures. Possible long distance travel, opportunities for higher education, and or writers being published.

The negative side of this is being narrow minded, cultural and religious bias, and fanaticism.

10^th House

As Jupiter transits the 10th house the native will have professional expansion, possible recognition, and/or of holding a position of power. Others in a position of power can be of assistance to the native.

The negative side of this is using power for personal means and a fall from grace.

11^th House

As Jupiter transits the 11th house the native can benefit from friends and/or group endeavors. The native's social circle will expand and may include prominent individuals that can assist the native in attaining ones desire's and goals. 

The negative side of this is using others to attain one's means and hypocrisy.

12^th House

As Jupiter transits the 12th house the native will be more compassionate and understanding of others. There will be a need for seclusion to reflect on the past as the 12th house is the end of the Jupiter cycle through the houses. If the native has operated in a positive manner they may receive benefits of past actions.

The negative side of this is escapism through drugs and/or alcohol, self pity, and misplaced sympathy.

Jupiter will be expressing his energy through the sign of Scorpio which rules taxes, insurance, transformation, mobs, sex, treachery, manipulation, and research. These are murky waters for Jupiter to navigate. As Jupiter transits Scorpio he will shine his light on things that are hidden and bring them to the surface.

The issues of the day will be obsession of religious and ideological belief systems, flooding, venereal diseases, eruptive diseases, toxic water, and waste issues. We will see Tyrants wanting to expand their boarders, and advances in nuclear and atomic developments.
